What a Brave and Noble thing it is to say YES.

The all-sustaining, all life-giving, all-affirming YES. The ‘Yes’ that keeps the water wheel a’turning, the Earth a’spinning, the tender shoots of spring a’reaching, the swallows flying across the wide open sea.

Despite all the heart-breaks, all the set-backs, all the disappointments and despairs, all the winter storms. All the dreams deferred and all the openings broken. All the robin chicks eaten by the speckled parish cat. And all the tender apple blossoms scattered by the whistling teeth of spring. All the relentless bad news humming on the air waves, and reverberating in our minds.

To say Yes despite it all.

To stand unarmed and say Yes. In full knowing that the sharpened spear of loss will know your heart once again.

To believe in Life despite it all. To choose Life despite it all.

Indeed, what a brave and noble thing it is, to say Yes. To another day of loving, to another day of living. 🌿

This wee willow & bulrush heart was made for the magic little corner of Body and Soul @bodyandsoulirl festival—for the First Tastes Blind Dates. As a wee encouraging YES to mysteries yet to be discovered, the possibilities of an open heart and a world yet unwritten, full of wonder a’waiting your tender gaze.

Le grá mór,
Xx
